Finney, billed as the first open-source, ultra-secure blockchain smartphone, has been launched by Sirin Labs of Ramat Gan, Israel. Barcelona soccer star Leo Messi and middleweight boxing champion Gennady “Triple G” Golovkin are brand ambassadors.
The phone is priced at $999 and is available for pre-sale to SRN token holders on the company website. Later on, the Sirin Labs website will offer additional channels of payments, including credit card. Finney will also be available to purchase on Amazon Launchpad starting in January.
Sirin Labs is opening two flagship concept stores, first in London (December 2018) and then in Tokyo (January 2019). The London store will also offer a blockchain “academy” for anyone wishing to learn more about the peer-to-peer distributed ledger technology.
Finney will run on SIRIN OS, a Google-certified modification of Android, featuring proprietary cyber protection suite, wallet functionality, dCENTER (DApp store), and Token Conversion Service. A unique sliding Safe Screen activates its cold storage wallet and enables users to independently verify that Finney wallet transactions send the correct amount in the correct currency to the correct address.
